PSL franchise, Peshawar Zalmi has received a well needed boost as prominent opening batsman Saim Ayub has been cleared to play in the forthcoming 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL 10), scheduled to commence on April 11, 2025.

Ayub, who had been out of action due to an ankle injury, successfully completed a month-long rehabilitation program in London before returning to Pakistan to celebrate Eid with his family.

A month prior, the left-handed batsman initiated his recovery by engaging in gym workouts, which included balancing exercises such as single-leg squats, tightrope walks, and single-leg jumps.

The injury, which Ayub incurred during the Test series against South Africa in early 2024, resulted in his absence from international cricket, sidelining him for over six weeks.

Resultantly, he was excluded from Pakistan's team for the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 and the recently completed tour of New Zealand. The latest information indicates that Ayub, along with wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris, will be joining the Peshawar Zalmi team today, coinciding with the second day of their training session in preparation for the tournament.

The eagerly awaited PSL 10 is set to commence on Friday, April 11, 2025, with the defending champions Islamabad United taking on the two-time winners Lahore Qalandars in the inaugural match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Peshawar Zalmi will launch their campaign on Saturday, April 12, against Quetta Gladiators at the same location. It is noteworthy that Zalmi began their preparations for the tournament on Sunday.
